5th January 2023 Mt. Biking: Two Rivers - Orwell to Deben(short route) Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Mainly cloudy Max Speed: 19.29 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 11.20 mile (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Thursday 5th January – bike *** – Mainly cloudy. After two days of windsurfing, it was nice to have a day off due to light winds but loads of wind coming from Saturday, so it was nice to get back to my exercises especially as I have put on a few pounds over Christmas:( With Mag also having to go up town it gave me time to chop some kindling for our fire. Then with lunch packed we leave home on our bikes at 12.45 heading through Langer Park to our favourite spot on the jetty at Landguard to enjoy our cuppa soup while watching the River Orwell boat action which included a boat moving/cleaning the channel marker bouys, both the pilot boats and a small coaster with a large digger on the deck. It was very pleasant sitting there especially when the sun made brief appearances:) Then back through the Nature Reserve with loads of bunnies to the prom where Mag turns up Bent Hill and home to spend some time cleaning our wooden front door as I carry onto Felixstowe Ferry, stopping to watch a tree surgeon high in the branches with his chain saw. There were again some nice skies with a hint of sun, a quick spin around the boatyard before heading for home for a well-deserved hot cuppa! Photo Album here |
